Hello my fellow Bereans, and ministry leaders. My name is Ona and I do my best to be a Berean. Sometimes it feels like life really messes with me and I fall short.
I remember as a little girl my twin and I would have church in our bedroom. To this day I believe that was the beginning of my love for church music and God's word.
When I turned 18 I started teaching Sunday School. Not long after, maybe a month or 2, my sister and I took over youth group.
Then the pastor who was trying to mentor us left and we were left to build a ministry foundation without much supervision or guidance. We did what we could to follow God's leading and learned from our failures while celebrating our successes.
After about 10 years of teaching and leading, I started working on our church Facebook page. Being an anxious introvert the social part scares me, but I am learning to love it.
My sister and I have decided that God is leading us elsewhere but I've learned so much. Mostly my need for a loving, forgiving and grace filled savior.
I remember the fear, the anxiety, and the stress of creating Sunday school lessons from scratch. But oh the joy of seeing the kids get it.
In ministry as well as my past attempts at blogging I have learned that we need a foundation, a plan, a purpose. It doesn't matter what ministry you are in, the foundation is important.
I would love to join you in your journey of building that foundation. If you're already knee deep in the mud I would love to encourage you. If you're sinking and overwhelmed, allow me to offer you a place of grace and rest.
